PRAYER SEEDS

Image
I remember once telling a friend that, "I'm living in this moment the answers to past prayers; some I'd even forgotten I prayed until they began to unfold." When I'd prayed those prayers, it all seemed so bleak, like God wasn't even listening, like barking up the wrong wrong tree... somehow, I didn't stop. Today, it struck me again that yes, that's still my reality: enjoying the manifestation of seeds of prayers past sown. Prayer works in the moment but one other sweet aspect of it is how it goes ahead, beyond the barrier of time to sort things out in the future.  Your experiences today are fruits of the seeds of prayer sown yesterday. Don't stop sowing those seeds, don't stop praying! This is my reality: pathways in the wilderness and rivers through dry lands! I won't like the faithless say "... this is too good to last long." Rather, I'll confess all my days, "God is faithful to Vie!", "The Word is working fo

But Marriage...

Image
But marriage is not the destination It's not the final bus stop It's not the full stop Why do we make all our plans around marriage? (At least most do.) "When I get married this, when I get married that..." is what takes up 90% of future aspirations. I'm not married I wish to get married I'm not downplaying marriage But I think we make it too much of the issue sometimes Life involves so much more apart from marriage Life entails a myriad of things beyond marriage The marital decision is one of the most important you'll ever make but, does your life completely revolve around fantasies of marriage before marriage?  I fantasize about being on the world's stage (Oh! With my very supportive spouse there with me or cheering me from the bleachers) I fantasize about the impact I'll make such that my name will be a household name in certain spheres I fantasize about how I'll be an authority and display excellent thought leadership on pertinent issues in

SUNSET AND BYE SEPTEMBER

Image
Sunset and bye September Rise and shine, it's Hello October. Sights set on tomorrow's wishes Make or Mar, choices offer One unique fact: This dawn here serves, A not so glorious breakfast: The battered Giant's 62nd... Life's here still And so a ray of hope flickers Simmering at the edge Of fog misted horizons It's hope _obidient_ to the labour Our heroes past did not in vain We'll serve em bats and antics 'breakfast' for losers With resolute hearts and PVCs The Giant's strength again shall abound Happy Independence The Giant of Africa! 🇳🇬  An 'Accidental Piece' on my country's 62nd ©TheArchiPoet

WHERE ARE YOUR STOREYS?

Image
Green, lush, tranquil? There may be chaos Somewhere on the horizon Just at the edge of reason But... It's the many stories in each unstoreyed house That'll intrigue more Capturing your heart, with joy and pain and all the mix Is there a valley without a hill? Must green romance with patches of brown? Virgin it isn't, yet plain and unbroken it lies Unmarred by concrete towers How long before steel makes a conquest? Aeons, centuries, decades or when the Kingdom comes? For now, We'll drink in your sweet fresh air Take our breath, breathtaking serenity We won't hold it, we'll savour your unblemished front There, you've branded us An impression on our souls Words can't fully script out And snapshots do but a meagre portion of justice. What's your story? Where are your storeys? When will they surface? © TheArchiPoet 2022

TELL THE ART

Image
Tell me what it stirs in you, Tell me what it rouses, Tell me the sights, tell me the sounds, Tell me the smells and flavory flavors Tell me all that comes rushing, From the art... Tell with a song Sing of the souls unraveling, How it comes to the place where it's emptily full. Tell with a dance Move to the beats of life's sinuous chants Dampening all fears that dare to threaten Tell with a poem An ode to love, to pain, to beauty, to purpose and all passions A tribute to victory and even battles lost The words need not flow in rhythm Nor tread the path of reason Only tell... Pray, tell to all your heart's content Call and tell Tell the world Tell it, it's the art in the art And the life in the art It's one and the same The life and the art Tell in any way you possibly can Tell the art Tell... © TheArchiPoet
